The new cokemaking complex, comprising two coke oven batteries (COB A and COB B) is equipped with an under-jet heating system and features 48 ovens each, with an oven chamber dimension of 7.6 m height and 20 m length. The top-charged batteries are designed to reach a total annual production of 1.5 million tons of coke, while the coke oven gas treatment and by-products plant, also included in the scope, are designed to treat a coke oven gas flow of 100,000 Nm³/h.
In the frame of this ambitious project, driven by the customer’s objective to significantly reduce environmental emissions in the coking operations, the new cokemaking complex is equipped with the Paul Wurth SOPRECO® system (Single Oven PREssure Control) and the Paul Wurth low emission Combustion System. All these features will enable the customer to meet the highest standards in terms of coke productivity and quality, emission control, low energy consumption, user-friendliness, and plant safety.
This project, which started during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, confirms the customer’s trust in the cokemaking technology of SMS, following two successful projects previously completed.
